CCW Application Information

EFFECTIVE MAY 2, 2022: CONCEAL CARRY IS PROCESSED BY WALK IN SERVICE

HOURS: MONDAY- FRIDAY 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

***Note: The Sheriff is allowed up to 45 days by law to process a conceal carry application.***

**Applicant must bring the following items**

New Applicants
-Driver’s License or Ohio State ID
-Completed Application
-Training Certificate (State of Virginia online course certificates not accepted)
-Fee – Cash or Money Order (exact amount only), Credit or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. Processing fee will be added to cost)
-2×2 Passport style photo to go on front page of application

* – Military members:
If your DD-214 is issued or you have an Active Military ID, you may use it in place of the Training Certificate.

**Applicant must bring the following items**

Renewal Applicants
-Driver’s License or Ohio State ID
-Completed Application
-Your Current CCW License
-Fee- Cash or Money Order (exact amount only), Credit or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. Processing fee will be added to cost)

*CCW license are valid for five years from the date of issue stated on the card*

Replacement Licenses
*Note- You must come into to our office to have a replacement license issued
-Driver’s License or Ohio State ID
-Affidavit stating the circumstances surrounding the loss of your license
(filled out at time of arrival)
-Fee-Cash or Money Order (exact amount only), Credit or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. Processing fee will be added to cost)

Address and/or Name Changes
-Driver’s License or Ohio State ID
-Proof of change
-CCW License
-Fee-Cash or Money Order (exact amount only), Credit or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. Processing fee will be added to cost)
-Completed address and/or name change form (can be filled out at time of arrival)

Fee Schedule
Non-Refundable Fees can be paid by Cash or Money Order (exact amount only), or Credit or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. Processing fee will be added to cost).
Please Note- if paying with a money order, valid only if issued within the past 30 days. Rolled coins or change exceeding $5.00 will not be accepted.

-First Time Applicant, Ohio Resident 5+ Years: $67.00
-First Time Applicant, Ohio Resident Less than 5 years: $78.25

-Renewal, Ohio Resident 5+ Years: $50.00
-Renewal, Ohio Resident Less than 5 years: $61.25

-Replacement: $15.00
-Address and/or Name Change on Card: $15.00
-Faded/Worn: $5.00

***Please note…If you are honorably discharged, retired duty military, active duty military, or retired law enforcement, you may be qualified to receive a conceal carry for free . Please bring a copy of one of the following and the fee will be waived : a copy of your DD214 with the language “Honorable Discharge”, an active duty ID, a retired military ID, or a retired law enforcement ID. VA Cards will NOT be accepted.

Disqualifying Offenses

-With regard to the State of Ohio Application for License to Carry a Concealed Handgun, it is the intention of the Ohio Legislature that this law (RC 2923.125) is compliant with the National Instant Criminal Background check system. This system of checks contains disqualifiers not specifically enumerated in Section III and/or IV of the license Application.

If a disqualifier is found, your application will be denied.
